THINGS THAT HUNT AT OLD AGE

Image
* THINGS THAT CAUSE REGRET AT OLD AGE * When younger we make various choice's without the future in mind. Sometimes those choices bite us in our mid-life. These are some of the things one might regret when they're older. 1. *Marrying the wrong person* When you're young, check your motives for marrying. Don't marry to copy your peers, or for social standing or out of pressure. Marry for love and companionship, marry the right person, marry your best friend. For if you marry the wrong person or for the wrong reasons, you will have to put up with that person the rest of your life. Things might get worse between you two; then depression, physical abuse, affairs, pain, shame, court cases, bitterness will define your mid-life years all because you chose the wrong one. Things will get worse when children are involved. Make the right choice of a spouse when you are young. 2. *The opportunities you did not seize* When you are younger many doors will open, you will g

The Igbo Became Christians Through Terrorism

Image
6 MAJORITY OF THE IGBO ACCEPTED CHRISTIANITY THROUGH BRITISH TERRORISM AND NOT AN IMMEDIATE MINISTRATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Now before you (the Igbo/African Christian) begin to tear yourself apart on this, I would want us all to pay attention and take these lessons of our history. If you must understand why the Igbo practice Christianity as opposed to Odinani, you must do your best to trace back to when it all started and how it all started. This is not an attack on Christianity as presently practiced by the Igbo – No. This is me educating you on why a good number of Ndi Igbo refused to become Christians and have remained with the ways of their ancestors (Odinani). The Igbo people met the Europeans face to face in the nineteenth century and that collision was to change the Igbo history (both culturally and religiously). Although European slave traders had exported a great number of Igbo people from the Bight of Biafra to Europe, up until 1830, no European had penetrated the I

Brief History of CYON

Image
CYON Nigeria was founded in 1985 to create a youth organization for young Catholics in Nigeria. [1]  CYO emerged in the context of a concern of the  Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria  (CBCN) that the young Catholics and local Catholic youth organizations in Nigeria should celebrate the  International Youth Year  (IYY) declared by the United Nations in 1985. Several meetings of chaplains responsible for youth affairs and youths leaders from the various dioceses of Nigeria took place to plan a national Catholic youth rally. From this type of rallies finally CYO Nigeria emerged as a nationwide umbrella for Catholic youth work in Nigeria. [4]  In 2010, at the General Assembly in Munich, CYO Nigeria was adopted as a full member to the international umbrella of Catholic youth organizations " Fimcap ". [5]  Currently, CYO Nigeria is building up a cooperation with a Muslim youth organization to foster peace in the country and to begin an inter-religious dialogue. [

REMEMBERING MARTHA ONYACHOWE ATTAH, aka ENIKPA 1933-2006

Image
A great woman who tamed the world she met, is how well to describe Martha Attah. By the time she crossed the vail into the spirit world in 2006, she had created history on many fronts because she was among the first Idoma girls to embrace Western education. At every point, she was usually the first Idoma girl to attain the feat. Indeed, Martha O Attah was lucky to have been born into the family of Chief Lazarus Ikpa Ogbole, a Dispenser with Idoma Native Authority who realized early enough that girl-child education held the key to the development of Idomaland. At the time he enrolled his second child and daughter at St. Mary’s Primary School, Otukpo in 1941, not many parents were willing to send their female children to any school. Chief Lazarus Ikpa Ogbole’s vision was further amplified when he sent Enikpa, as she became popularly known later in life, to Holy Rosary Convent Girls School, Enugu, where she studied between 1946 and 1948. She was one of the most outstanding pupils
