4TH WEEK OF EASTER

4TH WEEK OF EASTER Entrance Antiphon O chosen people, proclaim the mighty works of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light, alleluia.  Cf. 1 Pt 2:9 Collect O God, who in the celebration of Easter graciously give to the world the healing of heavenly remedies, show benevolence to your Church, that our present observance may benefit us for eternal life. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen. Acts 13:44-52 On the following sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul said. Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, ...

MAY DEVOTION

* MAY DEVOTION * As we begin the month of May, Brothers and Sisters, let me remind you of our traditional May devotion to Our Lady. This is most important this time that we don't have the opportunity to attend masses. The family remains the basic church, we must learn to embrace higher family worship and prayer as a micro church. May devotion offers us the opportunity to seek our Lady's intercession on the current pandemic and the many things that plague our families and the world.   *Pray the Rosary together every day* and commit your family to God.  *Through Mary our mother, we succeed*  God bless you.

THINGS THAT HUNT AT OLD AGE

Image
* THINGS THAT CAUSE REGRET AT OLD AGE * When younger we make various choice's without the future in mind. Sometimes those choices bite us in our mid-life. These are some of the things one might regret when they're older. 1. *Marrying the wrong person* When you're young, check your motives for marrying. Don't marry to copy your peers, or for social standing or out of pressure. Marry for love and companionship, marry the right person, marry your best friend. For if you marry the wrong person or for the wrong reasons, you will have to put up with that person the rest of your life. Things might get worse between you two; then depression, physical abuse, affairs, pain, shame, court cases, bitterness will define your mid-life years all because you chose the wrong one. Things will get worse when children are involved. Make the right choice of a spouse when you are young. 2. *The opportunities you did not seize* When you are younger many doors will open, you will g...

The Igbo Became Christians Through Terrorism

Image
6 MAJORITY OF THE IGBO ACCEPTED CHRISTIANITY THROUGH BRITISH TERRORISM AND NOT AN IMMEDIATE MINISTRATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Now before you (the Igbo/African Christian) begin to tear yourself apart on this, I would want us all to pay attention and take these lessons of our history. If you must understand why the Igbo practice Christianity as opposed to Odinani, you must do your best to trace back to when it all started and how it all started. This is not an attack on Christianity as presently practiced by the Igbo – No. This is me educating you on why a good number of Ndi Igbo refused to become Christians and have remained with the ways of their ancestors (Odinani). The Igbo people met the Europeans face to face in the nineteenth century and that collision was to change the Igbo history (both culturally and religiously). Although European slave traders had exported a great number of Igbo people from the Bight of Biafra to Europe, up until 1830, no European had penetrated the I...
